# GetDownloadUrl - Advanced Documentation

## Overview
Returns a pre-signed URL for downloading a file directly from external file storage.

## Limits
The URL expires about 5 minutes (300 seconds) after it is issued - much shorter than the upload URL's roughly 500 minute validity window. Request a fresh URL for each download instead of caching or reusing one.

## Usage Notes
Use the URL exactly as returned - do not reorder, add to, or otherwise modify its query string, since the URL carries an embedded signature that breaks if changed.
